Static Pops In Headset

As of a few hours ago, I have been hearing loud, static pops in my headset. This isn't like the ambient static that you normaly hear with the turtal beach headset, but very loud, static pops. This happens whenever the black cord is in the USB port. But I can't hear audio even when the green headset cord is in its USB. And when I was on skype it said that my headset coulden't access sound card.
