Troy Bilt 22tb Weed Eater Trouble
Mt Troy-Bilt 2TB Weed Eater has had Bumper and Head replaced 2 times. Both were replaces because Bumper would seize and could not remove without cutting off. Head got worn Down by Bumper, making the Bumper seize. When I change these parts. The weed eater is fine for about 10 minutes but them it returns to same issue and the head spins with hardly any torque.

Hi, there's got to be something going on outside of normal wear and tear with your trimmer. There is no good way to diagnose your bump head repeat failures without seeing it firsthand, repeat failures of this kind are rare. I recommend a visit to your local service center, but as you are aware the cost of this level of line trimmer makes repairs uneconomical often. It's sad that that's the case but if you buy a third line head you're about halfway to the cost of a brand new trimmer, right?

Hello again, I would like to try to help you with your unanswered bump feed head issue on your Troy Bilt trimmer. For the bump button to get worn down to the point of disfunction, you'd have to be in continuous contact with the ground or pavement. It isn't meant to be used as a depth guide or skimmer, virtually the only contact it should have is when you bump it to feed line out, hence the word bump being part of its name. The lack of torque you mentioned will be either heat related failure of the arbor bearings supporting the head or the centrifugal clutch being burned up from the excessive load of the head being dragged. In either case it is likely uneconomical to repair this machine vs. replacing it. I apologize for being blunt. Thank you!
