Fuel Economy Problem With My Toyota Sienna 1998

Please help me out. My toyota sienna 1998 is consuming fuel at an alarming rate. I actually lost the original engine (1MZ) that came with it, then i bought a used engine (2MZ). It moves well but fuel economy seems to be gone. What could be responsible? Does 2MZ guzzle more than 1MZ?
