The driver software for the touchpad of your Toshiba Satellite U500 may not be installed correctly or has been corrupted. You have to reinstall this driver software to solve this issue. If you do not have the driver software, you can download it online. I have provided the download links below. Toshiba Satellite U500 Touchpad Drivers
