Mousepad Keeps Scrolling!

I am having problems with my mouspad with Synaptics Pointing Device and Windows 8.1. Every time I try to move my cursor up or down it just scrolls. When the computer is in the log in window it works properly, but after log in it starts to malfuncion and keeps scroling. When I tried to fix it by disabling the gestures in settings the mouspad becomes unresponsive. What can I do to fix my mousepad?
