Delete Or Even Un-install The Touchpad

I have made several attempts to disable and even un-install the touchpad. I use a USB Mouse. The touchpad was disabled then all of a sudden it started working (all on it's own). Now no matter what I do I can't get it to turn off again. I was on the phone with tech-support for 2 hours and my touchpad is still working. This has become a really big pain. Short of opening up the back and unhooking the cable nothing seems to work. Please someone tell me how to get this stupid touchpad out of my way. Thanks early
