Lamps Keep Blowing

I have a toshiba 65hm167 tv and a new lamp has been replaced 3-times in 4-yrs. the last 2 lamps exploded and the most recent one only lasted 1-month. could there be a more serious problem than bad bulbs?

When a lamp explodes the ballast could be damaged, but usually a new lamp will never light up if it has been. more than likely the lamps were bought cheaply off line from a place that sell factory seconds. you should only buy from a Toshiba authorized dealer. I have seen where someone had to send back a lamp three times to get one to find one that lasted.

There are two fans that keep the lamp cool. When have you ever taken the light engine apart and cleaned them? When the lamp gets too hot they will fail.
