Connecting Tv To Desktop Computer?

I have a desktop computer running windows 7 home premium with On-Board Intel Graphics Media acceleration 950. I want to connect to my Toshiba Model 50a62 big screen TV to use as a monitor. What do I need to accomplish?

first you need to see if the tv is able to connect to the computer, that is look in the back and see if there is a plug in the back that loks like the back of your comp. monitor, if there is then you need the same type of chord that you used to connect the tower to you monitor, just needs to be longer to connect to the tv.

You'll need to check the plug ins at both the board's video output and the tv's input.  These should be one of 3 options, VGA, DVI, or HDMI.  These might not match from one to the other, if this is the case, you'll either need an adapter at the board to make the cable work, or a cable that is different on both ends.  After this, it's as easy as chaning the resolution to match your tv.

 

After looking at a pic of your tv online, if it's the same one for sure, it appears to be older than the standard for doing this and s-video might be the only option to hook it up as I'm not seeing a vga/dvi/hdmi plugin on the rear of the tv.
