Horizontal.
Horizontal is no longer holding. Because there is no control adjustment knob, what then is my next option?

As this is now considered an aged model you will need the help of an engineer as it sounds like there is a problem on the PCB with the line syncronizing section. This would entail component replacement.
You will need an engineer who has been in the trade for a number of years with experience in older models.
