Does The Gear Box Have To Be Removed To Replace The Belt On A Toro Model 30332

I have a Toro Super Recycler Model 30332 Mower.  I have removed the blade and belt cover along with the broken belt.  Do I need to remove the gear box to gain access to the pulley at that axle for the belt?  If so, what kind of screwdriver will work on the 8-9 screws that are part of that box?
