My Blackberry Phone Wont Let Me Send Text Messages

i can get on the internet and call but when i go to send a sms text message it says,"short message transfer rejected"

Is the BlackBerry yours, or is it a work BlackBerry from the company you work for? If it's a work BlackBerry, your company may have disabled text messaging on the phone. If it's your personal BlackBerry, contact the store you bought it from to see if it's something they can fix in-store.
