Radio/cd Player

my cd player went out about a year ago. when using, it will be ok for a couple of minutes and then some loud noise and the console housing the player and radio goes out (lights, radio won't work, ac off). so i dont use it anymore (obviously!).now the radio seems to have failed, it is like there is no longer an antenna connected. any ideas?
