Ts 500i Injector Pump Goes Hard, Stops Pumping Fuel
While servicing a TS 500i recently, I came across an issue with the primer/ injection pump. After about 3-5 pumps on the bulb it will fill with fuel and then stop pumping. The bulb goes hard and I cant get it to push in/ pump fuel. I have removed the injection pump assy. with fuel hoses and ran tests as per the Stihl workshop manual and found nothing wrong with that assy. I'm currently waiting to hear back from Stihl about this problem but figured I would try this forum in the meantime. I'm leaning toward the injector but no tests are listed for that part.

This turned out to be an issue with the injector valve. There is a check valve in the assembly that should "blow off" at no more than 8psi. If you encounter this issue and are sure that it is not being cause by a faulty injector pump (primer) the repair may be covered under warranty by an authorized Stihl dealer
