If you consult the card that came with the remote, you will find several codes for "Sony". You will need to experiment with each code until you find one that will power the receiver on and off. Then you will have control of the receiver. If you don't have the card, then go to the web site and download a copy in PDF format from there. I have a lot of Sony stuff, and I have found that the codes vary according to the year the equipment was made and its function.
