You may try resetting the camera by pressing the RESET button using a pointed object. The RESET button is located between the DISC BURN and DISP/BATT INFO button. If this does not resolve the issue with the touch screen, service will be required. Please visit eService website for details on how to get the unit repaired.
The HD's connection port is not a specified specification. Media recovery services, such as Sony Media Services, can assist you in recovering the data from your camcorder.
