The Machine Starts Reading But Never Plays
Tried various DVD's samething, reading never playing. Eventually ejects disc. Tried a CD plays fine.

DVDs are harder to read than CDs so the fact that it can read CDs and not DVDs tells me the laser is either dirty or worn out. You can try cleaning it with a laser lens cleaning disc but if that doesn't work, you'll just have to buy a new DVD player.
