Sharp Cash Register Can't Open

Try turning the key to X1/Z1 then press CASH (TL) button. If it still doesn't open, it probably has the factory fault where some models had the drawer wiring incorrectly dressed so it gets cut by the drawer tray. If you remove the drawer tray and insert, you might be able to see damage on the two white wires in the drawer. It will cause the drawer drive circuit to fail. It normally needs to be repaired by a technician. Sharp were repairing them under guarantee but I'm not sure now, so check with a local dealer.
