Power On And Volume Buttons On Remote Don't Work.

The Power and Volume buttons on both the TV and Cable Remotes suddenly stopped working. Now, Power On/Off and volume can only be done manually from the side of the TV. Is this a sensor issue and is it easy to fix/replace? I've tried all the online suggestions and it still doesn't work. We've been very happy with the TV and other than this issue, it still works great! Thanks. Monica~
