Cant Figure Outwhy My Tv Wont Turn On

There are basically two boards that can cause this symptom and the connecting wire harness (between the two boards). There is the "Main" and the "T-Con" boards and the LVDS cable. The "main" does a lot of functions as well as process the video and audio, such as turn the set on and off, change channels and input. Since most of the functions are working (I'm assuming the unit can be turned off normally), I'm going to assume that there really is audio, but with no video it's hard to find a working channel. maybe you can stick a DVD in the player and if you mess with the input button and the volume up buttons you can find it does have audio. If you can confirm this is really working, then it very likely the T-Con board. Someone should pull the back off this unit and pull the LVDS cble loose on both ends and reconnect it, I have seen the contacts develop a bad connection over time, and doing this breaks loose the carbon and could repair it with no money spent.
