Power Out
Cannot turn on. Green light flashes but no longer powers on. Unplugging for several minutes does not help.

Sharp has a feature that after the back light fail five times the TV turns off and the LED indicator blinks once, pauses, repeats continually. This will not restart until the five errors are cleared.
The normal cause is a bad stage on one of the two inverter boards part numbers RUNTKA216WJZZ list $112.00 and RUNTKA217WJZZ list $93.00. The back light are thin florescent tubes arranged in a horizontal grid. these are broken it to two groups, the top and the bottom lamps. each is controlled by their respective inverter board. If you can determine which lamp isn't lighting up, you can determine which board is responsible for it's control, and then replace that board. Of course the first step to fixing any set is to make sure that no connections have come loose. Check the wiring and that the inverters haven't come loose from the lamp connectors.
In the process to troubleshoot the problem, the set can be told to over-ride the errors and allow the TV to start back up. If the problem still exists, then the set will turn back off, but in the small segment of time that the set is on a trained technician can determine what stage of which board is failing, and determine if it's the board or the lamp inside the panel.
The procedure to allow the set to come back on is: uplug the AC cord for as long as 30 seconds, press and hold both the [vol dn] and the [input] buttons on the TV keyboard while plugging n the AC cord. watching the LED indicator release the keys as soon as the indicator lights up. The TV will be allowed to start back up, and if there is a bad stage or lamp then there will be a darker area on the screen (horizontal band) there the lamp is located.
Once the problem is repaired you can take it to a technician to have the errors removed. This procedure i will not post on the web, You can do too much damage if you go into this next stage.
