Date Not Advancing

When Positioning The Stem To Move Day Number There Is No Movement. Stem Just Spins. However Am Able To Change Hands On Watch. i Was Able To Remove The Stem. Will Replacing The Stem Solve The Problem?

make sure you pulled the stem out all the way other wise the gears won't engage
