Built-in Fender Light Battery Replacement

The built in front fender light of my Schwinn Slik Chik needs new batteries, and even the guys at the bike shop could not figure it out. This is not the vintage Slik Chik, it is the newer version, so the light casing is chrome plated plastic and everyone is afraid of breaking it. Any help is appreciated.
