Filling While Not On

Our washer is filling with water even though it's not on. I had to shut the water off. It won't cycle either or drain. what do you think the problem is?

I think the machine has gone to a free mode in which it is not detecting any automatic functions and is behaving like a semi automatic machine. This is not something that can be fixed by pressing buttons. Calling the vendor is the best bet.
