Does Not Work
my smh1622w sounds like it is working fine but does not heat. What might the problem be? RIN

If your SMH1622W is not heating:
If your microwave is not heating, it may be in Demonstration Mode. Demonstration Mode turns off the heating element which allows retailers to demonstrate the functions of the microwave without the oven heating. In Demonstration Mode, the timer will count down much faster than normal.
If your unit is in Demonstation mode follow the instructions in your User Manual. Every model does not have the same method to turn Demonstration mode on and off, but most units have the same function. In most Samsung microwaves you can turn Demonstration mode on and off if you press and hold the "0" button and then press "1."

If this does not resolve your problem, the magnetron (heating element) has probably failed and you need to get your microwave serviced. Click here to fill out an Online Service Request and begin the service process.
