Samsung Refrigerator Rs265lbbp

I have removed the drawers and back panel of my frig and have the fan exposed.. I can see the coil is iced up alot I am not sure if that is normal or what .. but I read somewhere that the noise my fan is making if possibly the fan freezing up. I cleaned the refrigerator a week ago and left if over night and a day sit Unplugged.. My husband plugged it back in and it worked fine until just a day ago and that noise started again. I am assuming the fan is freezing because it is exposed now and is purring like a kitten. (NO NOISE) at one time I noticed that the water stopped dispersing entirely just before this started. Why is this happening.. is the thermostate or sensor bad.. what do I need to buy.. this thing cost me 1400.00 and has been nothing but headache. It is not under warranty but I am thinking it is a design issue or something. I am desperate for an answer .. I can not afford a new one .. ANY RESPONSE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED ..MY THANKS IN ADVANCE. TAH

Your refrig/freezer has a common defrost issue. The freezer is staying cold but the fresh food section will not be cold or less that normal. The evaporator is froze up like a chunk of ice. Are these your symptoms ? The fan blade noise is due to the ice build up.

Most likely you have a bad bi-metal thermostat limit. You will need to defrost the evaporator with a blow dryer or portable steamer. Don't burn the liner with the blow dryer and make sure to unplug the unit before trying to repair it yourself. Once the ice is all melted, you will see the thermostat limit snapped on the top of the evap. coil. It is about the size to a stack of 4-5 nickels and has two wires coming out of it. Go to Goggle and type in your model number. Then go to one of the appliance part site and order your new part. Of look in the phone book for appliance parts. The new limit will need to be either sliced in or if it plugs in, just plug it back in. Call appliance repair if this is above your skill level. If you can't aford to have it done or you can't do it yourself, you will need to defost it every 24-48 hours depending on how many times the door is opened.
