Have Reverse Osmosis System So Want To By-pass Filter

We have a reverse osmosis system with a line to the fridge so I want to by-pass the Samsung filter. The combination RO system with the Samsung filter make the water pressure too low so water trickles out. I confirmed in the user manual online and with Home Depot prior to purchasing this fridge that I could by-pass the filter. The Home Depot person said that I need to make sure the delivery/installer person leaves the by-pass cap that replaces the filter but the installer dude says he doesn't have one. He said the LG and GE come with one but not the Samsung. We tried it without the filter and no water came out. We added the filter and the water trickled out so it seems it needs a cap to click into place where the end of the filter would normally click into place for the water to work. Some people at Samsung claim I don't need a by-pass cap and others say I have to purchase one. Does anyone know if it is required and if not how to get the water to work without the filter or a cap?
