Turn On Tv, A Box Comes Up With 'check Fan # 3'. Then Tv Turns Off.

There are three fans, two small and one larger. How do you know which one is 1..2...or 3?

there is no set procedure saying fan two is the DMD fan or the lamp exhaust and fan three is the other since the fans can be plugged into either socket you can swap the plugs to see if fan 2 error occurs proving it's a fan problem or the sensor board.

the best way to see which fan is running slow is to measure the feedback wire (usually the yellow lead) with a meter. I will say it is likely the lamp exhaust fan since the heat is greater and the bearings dry out. Sometimes a vacuum cleaning will work.
