Sander Stops Working On Sanding Surface
sander stops spinnig as soon as it goes onto sanding surfsce but starts again when it is lifted up

There may be dust inside the sander fouling it up, or it may need new brushes. A good first step would be to take it apart and clean out the inside -- that will also give you the opportunity to look around and see if anything looks off (rusted bearing, warped shaft, etc.).
