Ricoh Mp 4000 Has Black Toner Smudges At The End Of Every Page Printouts.

We have a Ricoh MP 4000 that produces printouts with black toner smudges at the bottom of page which gives an unprofessional look. What parts of the printer should I check and clean or is there a self-cleaning mechanism for the printer? PLEASE HELP...

The MP 4000 is notorious for having copy quality issues caused by the developer or developer unit. That is a good first place to check. Clean the mag roller and dv unit and replace the developer and filters. If your copier still has the original dv unit in it (with just one filter instead of three) you should replace it with the new-style unit, which has a better mag roller.

You should also clean out the drum unit, which can get dirty and cause copies to look dirty.
