How Do I Scan A Document To My Computer On An Intranet System?

In order to scan to your computer, you'll need to create an accessible, shared scan folder on your computer.  Create this folder and make sure that network users have the permissions to read and modify the contents of the folder.  Also make sure that file and printer sharing is permitted by your firewall.

Once you've set up the folder, go to the copier and create a scan destination in the address book (User Tools/Counter > System Settings > Administrator Tools > Address Book Management > New Program).  Enter a display name for the destination, then select the Folder tab and enter the path to the folder (or select Browse Network and browse to the folder that way).  If a username and password is required to access the folder, you'll need to enter this information as well.

Once you've entered the path and authentication information, touch OK to save the new entry.  Now all you have to do to scan is exit out of User Tools, press the Scanner button, put your document in the document feeder, select your folder from the list on the screen, and press Start.
