Dvd Not Working

THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES NOW.  SOMETIMES WHEN I PUT A REDBOX DVD IN TO WATCH IT THE DVD PLAYER DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THE DISC.  RIGHT NOW IT SAYS "INCORRECT DISC."  WHY IS THIS?  HOW CAN I GET IT TO WORK.  IN THE PAST, I'VE JUST TAKEN THE DVD'S BACK AND PAID FOR A MOVIE I DIDN'T GET TO WATCH.
