Rca Portable Dvd Player,'unknown Disc' Error, How To Fix?

Please help me. My son purchased a RCA portable DVD player for my car for Christmas. The DVD player has only been played less than 7 times since it was opened brand new. Now, no matter what DVD that you put in the DVD player to play, it gives a "Unknown Disc" error..... every single time. These are not burned copies of DVDs they are real DVDs by Disney, etc. This is very disappointing since this unit sells for $109 and it only worked 7 times and is now broken. Here is the manufactured August 2015.
