Get Sound When Cable Is Plugged In
I have picture but static sound when I plug the cable into the cable jack in the back of the TV

You need to prove that the problem is in the TV and not from the cable company. hook up a DVD, VCR or game console and check them. If problem still is there then the "Main board" need repair since it's no longer available (expect a bill in the $300 range)
If the problem isn't there when using the video inputs from the DVD, VCR, etc, then check that you haven't put the MTS in SAP. it should be in the stereo mode. Look for [MTS] on the remote and push it till it says "Stereo"
