The most frequent cause of static noise in speakers is a loose connection. ... If the speakers use cables with connectors, make sure that the connectors are firmly positioned in the ports on the backs of the speakers and the amplifier or receiver. Replace loose banana connectors or purchase a new set of RCA audio cables.

How do you stop static in speakers?
If you hear a hissing sound, turn down the gain on the amplifier and turn up the volume on the receiver. Adjust these two settings to minimize the hiss. Make sure the patch cables between the amplifier and the receiver are not running near other power wires (including the wire providing power to the amplifier).
