Proform 325 Csx Bike

I purchased the Proform 325 CSX about a month ago new, still in the box. I assembled it as per the instructions provided. I also purchased a monthly IFIT contract to accompany the Proform. After plugging in the machine and turned it on, all the display readings seemed to be non-functional when I moved the pedals, even though they displayed a reading. I went through the instructions on how to make changes to the available modes of operation. Nothing changed. With the IFIT paired to the machine, or without it, I noticed that the pedal resistance was extremely hard. It was as if they were stuck in the highest Resistance Level (22). They did not respond to any manual or IFIT inputs. It was like I was trying to pedal up a STEEP hill. As per the instructions provided, I made the adjustment to the magnetic sensor pick up by moving it closer to the rotating resistance disc. This had NO affect on the Resistance of the Pedals. Is there anything I can manually adjust for the resistance of the Pedals. I don't even care if there is NO resistance at all as long as I can move the pedals with some relative ease. I purchased the machine because I had Hip Surgery and needed something to regain the strength in my legs/hip. NOTE: The IFIT program worked as advertised using my IPhone, and it paired fine with the machine, but it had Zero affect on the display or resistance changes. I don't even care about that...I just want to be able to move the pedals without struggling with them.
