Recall On Valve Lifters

i purchased a 2008 pontiac torrent from a used car dealer 6 mo ago and i took it back asking them to fix the loud ticking sound that i heard.when they told me it was the valve lifters they agreed to pay half due to the cost...i was upset that they wouldnt cover the full cost but had them proceed w the work anyway...its been a month and still making the same noise but much louder and its getting worse.somethings not right, are there any recalls on the valve lifters that i should know about?
