Engine Overheating Problem On Pontiac Montana Sv6 Van.

Hi,  I am having engine overheating problem on my Pontiac Montana SV6 van. And I can confirm that both radiator cooling fans come on when parked. No work has been done on the engine so far - the issue came up gradually a few days ago, now is always present - engine overheats quickly, red light comes on, I have to turn the engine off. .  There seems to be no coolant circulation, that is mu guess. Coolant level in the reservoirs is OK. Any help with diagnosing the problem would be appreciated. Thanks, Mario

If there is no coolant circulation, then the first thing to replace is the water pump. Either the pump has seized up or the belt that drives it is slipping.

If the water pump is good, then your thermostat could be blocked or defective. If your thermostat doesn't open, the coolant will not circulate throughout the engine, causing it to overheat.
