Back Lighting On Pioneer Deh-31 High Power 35wx4

I have a Pioneer DEH-31 stereo in my car. I had taken it out the other day and put it in it's case because I was unable to lock my car doors. When I put the stereo face back in, the back lighting is very light. I can barely see the time and/or radio station lit up, even at night. I am wondering if there in a way to adjust that. I've had this for over 10 years, so am unable to find a manual for it online.
