Pfaff Coverlock 4.0 Problem

I have just acquired one of the coverlock 4.0, not brand new but hardly been used. My type of sewing is chenille clothing and it's thickness womt go thru the mackine and the chain stitch keeps breaking, any advice on this matter would be appreciated thank you
