Lights On, But No Sewing On My Pfaff Grandquilter 18.8

When I turn my machine on the lights come on, and it beeps. But when I push needle up/down nothing happens. When I push start, nothing happens. We purchased a new cable that goes from the handle to the machine but that didn't help.
