Meter Es Ii Pentax

I have just bought a mint condition ESII however the meter works but overexposes about two stops. When pushed the meter check shows in the viewfinder above the brackets for good batteries (kinda looks like 2 stops). I've checked the camera against my hand held meter and the results verify over exposure of 1 3/4 to 2 stops is there an answer for my problem. Anyone know of an inexpensive excellent repairman, hows that statement for an oxymoron.
