Why Cant We Play Other Video Format Like Mp4, Mkv, Etc.?

Why cant we play other video format like mp4, mkv, etc.? Its really disappointed us with these drawback. We were not aware of these before purchasing. Is there any way out or converter for playing such format with this Hometheatre?

The manufacturer has designed this device to be only compatible with certain video format. According to Cnet, your Panasonic SCXH170 is compatible with the following the following media format.

Video Format

DivX

Audio Format
