It Keeps Switching On Automaticaly When Switched Off
it keeps switching on automaticaly when switched off and scrolling though display

This happens when the clock is not set. The unit goes into "Demo" mode.
To cancel demo mode:
- Turn the unit off.
- Press & hold the Stop/Demo button next to the FF button on the cassette transport control until the display reads No Demo.
More information on this can be found on page 21 of the user manual, which is downloadable from this site. The front page of the manual will show models SC-PM16 and SC-PM 18, but don't worry - the information also applies to the SA-PM17. (It says so in the manual...)
