My 3587i Is Intermittently Shutting Down After I Turn It On!

my 3587i is intermittently shutting down after I turn it on. The battery, tho' 8 yrs old, was 'fully charged', ws ing it on Was fine last wk until I packed it away & flew to Alaska, turned it on and it was roaming forever so I shut it right down. Later after returning, recharged it, but now have this problem! Help!! I'm afraid to reset it to factory specs as I think i'll lose all my calls, tel #s!

8 years is really long life for a battery. It is like miracle. Best and cheapest solution is to buy a new battery.
