Towing A Civic With Maxima

Hello I am planning to tow my Honda Civic 2003 shift gear with my Nissan Maxima 2008 V6 3.5 from Florida to Texas. Will this hurt the engine/transmision. Im planning to install a hitch on the Maxima and buy a 5,000 lbs adjustable tow bar to pull the the Civic. Any advise or comments. Thank you
