Loud Screech Under Hood-getting More Frequent!

Every time I start my van or use the a/c I get a high-pitched screech from under the hood. It is starting to screech randomly as Im driving with & without the a/c on. I have been able to stop the noise by either revving it above 3 RPMs, shifting between park, reverse & neutral a few times, cutting the a/c on & off repeatedly or just waiting a few minutes until it stops on its own. The noise doent seem to come from a belt but what else could be making this obnoxious, embarassing noise all the time?
