The battery light comes on when there is a difference between the output from the alternator and the power required from the car plus battery. If the light is coming on and off when driving I suspect that there may be a problem with your alternator out put. Its easy to check with a multi meter. Connect it up to the two terminals on the battery, start the car up and you should have at least 14volts. If this figure fluctuates up and down, check all the electrical connections to make sure they are all tight and clean. If this does not solve the problem then you will need to change the alternator.
