No Volume On Motorola T5200 Talkabout

No volume when receiving or sending voice communication.  Have the volume turned up full; have tried new batteries - no success.  These are not new radios. SN690WBP01F5/SN690WBP01F1   01/JUL/2001 Please advise.  Maybe they have seen their time. Thank you Wayne E Hebrank
