I Can Hear Them, They Can't Hear Me On Skype & Google Phone. I Have Windows 8.

I have VAIO laptop. I do not know what did I do but now whenever I try to use GOOGLE Phone and SKYPE, I can hear them but they cannot hear me. Please, help me solve this problem. By the way recently I upgraded from Windows 7 Home premium to Windows 8. Thank you for your time and valued help in advance.
