Hello Musecat2,

Your concern is understandable. However, please be advised that we are not MetroPCS. However, we can provide a possible answer to general questions on here.

The automated system at MetroPCS, as with most wireless providers, should have the most updated information available, when you call regarding your bill. Therefore, if you were informed your bill is current then your bill should be current, and there should not be any interruption in your service.

The reason you received a text is because MetroPCS programmed a reminder for you earlier in the day and scheduled it to go out in the late evening. Therefore, the 2 paths crossed between the time your payment was made and the designated time a scheduled reminder text went out.

Example:

  • 9am today > MetroPCS Billing Department created the reminder for customers who's payment is due today, and not yet received.
  • 4pm today > You went online to make your payment at MetroPCS website (and received confirmation payment was accepted?)
  • 5pm today > You received the already scheduled 'reminder' text about the payment due
  • 5:05pm today > Your called MetroPCS directly through your mobile phone to inquire if the payment you made today was received. Which the automated system informed you that your account is current.

I wouldn't worry about it. However, i do suggest whenever you make an online payment that you write down the confirmation number MetroPCS provides you with once payment is accepted on the website.

As for a Senior Discount, I am sorry to have to say "No" MetroPCS does not currently have a senior citizen discount program.

Hope this helps
